Grim Fate of Wend
Verse 3
Sleeping, I had the same dream.
But then I saw my pair on a playground swing.
His only palm had a pink heart like mine on my face.
I woke up crying.
Billions of years and I don’t care to scratch the surface.
Getting dressed, I looked in the mirror, turning human with the pink birthmark peeking through my long, straight, blood red hair.
Then I poofed it away, out of existence.
However, I felt best in these moments, the flesh doesn’t crawl nearly as much while human.
Tying up my hair, I thought of the people around me and their stories.
I welcomed the thought that maybe billions of years has been all worth it.
Walking back into the dining room, they were all there with a smile.
Wooly was first.“Can't resist?”
Rushing to recover, I spoke up.
“I’ll just take a peak. But you must wish for them, not just take me to him. The dreams could mean something else. Let me eat first then we can go.If it is him. What Earth is it?”
Bonnie perked up, “It was my first wish! Lassverse. Men went extinct, woman use labs to make babies, but only girls. He is the only man on that world. Like I said, we never did a check up. Oh I’m excited to see them.”
Satisfied by the compromised, I still ate unoccupied utensils.
Gripping hands, I shivered the whole time, I was struggling to focus.
“If we do find him, no emerging at first just observing.”
We stood before the same play ground.
On the side was the same sign, Pa-Pa-Pow Playground.
They spun and were happy, meaning it is him.
I summoned an answer by burning a candle in my room for only a moment.
He was 21 years old and it was new years, his birthday.
I was uncomfortable with such a young age, though my image isn’t so different.
“Alright, Bonnie and Wend. Let’s go back in time.”
I covered her face, “No, I can’t bare to see him as a child again. I guess, introduce us then?”
Summoned inside we stood near the loud speakers.
He had finished opening his last gift, keys to a new motorcycle.
One mother looked distressed and apologized for never showing him how to love.
His other mother held both of them, we came into existence.
I was unpleased by his forwardness, but they were quick explaining the situation.
I was uncomfortable about his closeness.
We said farewell to them leaving me to it.
